THE BABY CARTThis type of baby cart was not a "soft" ride for an infant. It was equipped with wooden wheels and iron tires and was without springs of any kind. The body of the cart was usually wicker although all wooden carts have survived. It was pulled by a long tongue, or it could be pushed however its lack of steering capabilities meant pulling was easier than pushing.
