THE CORONATION HALL

In 1911, the Village of Omemee received from Mrs. J.C.Eaton (Lady Eaton, formerly Flora McCrea) a gift of Coronation Hall - the Omemee Hall. This had been the old Tully property with a board and batten house that had been vacant for years. Mrs. Eaton bought the property and had plans drawn for a community hall. It was completed in the late fall with the "Grand Opening" in late December, where Lady Eaton signed the deed of conveyance and handed it to Reeve Mulligan. King George V and Queen Mary had their coronation that year, hence the name Coronation Hall was added to the building.
