Joseph Constant

A freeman or free trader [a fur trader unconnected to any of the fur trading companies] from Quebec who settled in The Pas and was influential in the Cree settling on the south side of the Saskatchewan River in this area. Constant cleared land, raised cattle, and grew crops. He raised a family and many of his descendants live in the area to this day.
