Kirkland Lake: The Town That Made The NHL Famous

TRANSCRIPT

Sneaking into the Kirkland Lake Arena

I can't recall how much it was, it was probably twenty-five cents or fifty cents, that was quite a bit of money...so I would just wait and the guy would be picking the tickets up and then I just waited and he then he'd know what we were doing and then he'd look the other way and then about two or three of us would run down , just little guys, run down and he'd pretend he'd chase us, and we would run right down to the very end and go up into the rafters and he couldn't get us and then we sit up there and watch the different guys, and there would be you know...Juveniles...and so we always liked to say someday I'll be there... We had all our own favourite players because I was Legion, and some other guys would be the Lions, and some other guys would be the Holy Name, so we all had our [team], depending what school you went to. They would all [say] "I hate those guys" but they didn't really, because it was competitive and it was like belonging to like a little club, you know what I mean.
