HH: ...we'd duck; weavin'...

LR: How long did you guys play together?

HH: About uh...

LR: As the Coloured All Stars.

AS: I think was 2 years, wasn't it?

HH: I would say 2, maybe 3 years; I think 3 years all together. But ya see, like I said before that, we played for different teams...

LR: Right.

HH: ...in the, in the city. But when it come to this here, a long weekend, then shwoo, we'd form together.

LR: That's great. And how... What was the reaction to you traveling around as The Coloured All Stars?

HH: Um... How do you mean? Like the city?

LR: Yeah, in different places. Did...

HH: Well, they ... Oh! Where we went!

LR: Were you a novelty?

HH: Oh yeah! Oh yeah, because we were, to them we were like the...

AS: They were good!

HH: We were like the Harlem Globetrotters to them. Because we were having fun; and we sorta, as I phrase it...

AS: Acted like nuts...

HH: ...acted the fool, but I mean was different things we done that'd make the crowd roar. And yet we always won. [laughs] Once in a blue moon we lost.

LR: Ah... that's great...

HH: But... Even the one time, George [Bell], he was running out and there was a one, way behind, goes way behind me, and I was running backwards, and George was running too, but I was determined I was gonna get this. And I ended up catchin it, and I stumbled, just as, I stumbled. Still had the ball, in this hand, in the glove. And I whipped like that, to George, he caught it and threw the guy out on base. And oh, they just... [laughs] They thought that was phenomenal.

LR: Good memories...
