Growing Up In Peterborough: A Century of Stories

TRANSCRIPT

Clair: We lived on Douro Street, which was about a block and a half away from Immaculate Conception Church and we went to church, certainly every Sunday, usually to confession every Saturday night. Also during Lent we would go to church everyday. And my mother was involved in the PTA and um, my brothers and I were altar boys at Immaculate Conception Church. Father McCarney and some of these priests were very influential to our family as well. So the church was a very active part of our life. As long as we went to church on Sunday morning, which we always did, then sports were allowed later on during the day. And that was how you spent most of your Sunday.
