Growing Up In Peterborough: A Century of Stories

TRANSCRIPT

Arlene: So I remember kindergarten there. And I tell everybody that I nearly failed kindergarten. (Laughs) I did! I was no good at cutting and pasting. To this day I'm terrible. And you know I was so glad when they brought the readers in. They brought them in in kindergarten. I remember that before Christmas. We had these little yellow paperback primers and they were, you know Dick and Jane. We were reading those and I just took off once I could read. And then I was doing recitations and everything for you know the concerts and that. But before that, oh, we were doing all this pasting and I just was having a terrible time, pasting all over everything, couldn't cut. Absolutely terrible.
