TRANSCRIPT

Since I have been carving for a long time, I make all kinds of different carvings. Before I carve, I think about what I am going to make. As I begin to carve, I observe the shape of the stone. If it looks like the figure of an Inuk, then I'll work with that. When I think about Inuit art in Inukjuak, I wish people associated our community with less stereotypical carvings. I want people to know about the unique carvings that I make - carvings made with mixed-media.
