Interview with Debbie Zimmerman, Grape Growers of Ontario - Explains the Benefit of Wind Machines

Over the years the viticultural practices have changed. Growers are much more technology savvy. In addition to better cropping techniques they have also introduced wind machines, which help off-set the deep cold that we have in the winter because we have had in 2003 and 2005; we had one of the most difficult harvests because most of our grapes were lost to cold. With the introduction of wind machines in Ontario, we have been able to better sustain crops in these cold weather conditions.
