Interview with Mrs Jeanette Arkell, WWII Farmerette - Jeanette Discusses the Fun Had, and Purpose of Being a Farmerette

Well, the friends we made, and we had fun. We had real fun. And really you had to be in at a certain hour, and if you had a date you had to be signed out, you know. I mean, I think that they were very strict. Of course they would have had to be or some of the girls would have gone wild. I don't know. Well, it's just, I don't know...there was something about how you felt like you were doing something for the war, and I think on the whole we made such great friends. And as far as the danger of the war, we weren't affected you see.
