Interview with John Hall, President and C.E.O. Kittling Ridge Estate Wines and Spirits - John Explains How He Makes Brandy From Grapes

Brandy is also made from grapes and that is the way that brandy is made is that the grapes are fermented into a wine, and then the wine is pot distilled and put into forty gallon oak barrels and then aged for several years. And then when you take into account the usage of grapes in brandy vs. wine, the bottle of wine usually uses about 2.5 pounds of grapes and the bottle of brandy uses six pounds of grapes, so there is more grapes in a bottle of brandy then a bottle of wine.
