Interview with Llewellyn Smith, E.D.Smith - Llewellyn Describes the H.P. Sauce Production

Out of the tomato paste production we were exporting tomato paste to England and through that was a contact at H.P. Sauce. And when war broke out in the Forties and due to the restriction of shipping product across the Atlantic in favour of troops having essential supplies, Brigadier Armand Smith, my grandfather was awarded the business to produce H.P. Sauce over in Canada. And that was a very important agreement because it kept the factory alive financially for many lean years.
