Interview with Lew Puddicombe of Puddicombe Farms - Lew Discusses How the Farm Was Passed Down Through Generations

And you see, this farm was originally, originated from my grandfather. It was handed down from relatives, who were United Empire Loyalists and so he inherited the farm and his son, who went to OAC and graduated and came back to the farm, he was going to go into the fruit business in a big way. Well, as it worked out, he went overseas and was killed but my grandfather carried on and he was probably one of the more prominent growers in the Niagara Peninsula. So, he farmed until about 1930, oh I would say '33 or 4 and my father took over and he carried on with the farm until 1951 when he passed on and I carried on from '51 till about '85. And now Murray is carrying on, my son. So I've noticed a good many changes.
