Paul Kane's Cobourg 1833-1834

Paul Kane returned to Cobourg in 1852 to marry Harriet Clench, who had waited for his return. He painted one last local portrait, his wife's sister Fanny's mother-in-law, Margaret Douglas Armour. The portrait show much more refinement than his early work. Harriet and Paul moved to Toronto and remained there until the end of his life.
