Kwong kee's General Store opened on Clarke Street in the 1920's. Leung Wong, the store's owner, was the only Chinese person in Port Moody to own property in the 1920's. His store catered mostly to the many Chinese mill workers living in bunkhouses. White Port Moody residents only entered the store to purchase fireworks for special occasions.
