Sliding, Gliding and Soaring: A history of skiing in Revelstoke, British Columbia

TRANSCRIPT

When the cross country was up on Mt. Revelstoke, below the Nels Nelsen jump, they used to pull it around with a snowmobile - the track setter - which I have at home now. So he'd [Brian Abear] been doing that since sometime in the 70's, and they went to that little Bombi, I guess, which I wasn't involved with because that thing was a holy terror. You just dragged something around and if the snow was too deep you couldn't pull it and you'd go winching on trees and things like that. So when I come, I had a newer machine, it was a piston bully, and then now we've got a new Bombardier, which is, kind of, a Cadillac of things right now.
