Sliding, Gliding and Soaring: A history of skiing in Revelstoke, British Columbia

And I saw Paul Mair going from here down to Mt. Mackenzie; he skied on it for a few days, and there were a few others there. The next thing I knew, the company was formed down south and they were running a rope tow. Of course, a lot of people were pretty angry about that but I could see, we couldn't go anywhere on Mt. Revelstoke. There was no place to go. After the Diefenbakker years, you weren't going to build or expand. So, why, all we did, we held a few meets on this hill and they were good meets, we had people from Rossland and all over the place that came up. We ran giant slaloms and we even ran a downhill once, through bush.
