flourishing until the 1930s.
The area, later known as
Grimsby Beach, remained a
summer destination for many
cottagers throughout the
1940s, ’50s and ’60s. Then,
as cities around the region
expanded, Grimsby began
attracting year-round
residents. Today, all that
| remains of the original
Grimsby Park are some
gingerbread-style cottages, a
crumbling pier that once
welcomed steamers full of
people and a bell that no
longer rings.
