'I never had any inclination to becoming a police officer when I was growing up. I actually grew up in Hamilton, and I knew most of the mafia in Hamilton, not that I did anything wrong, but I knew who they were and what they were about and I didn't ever see myself becoming a police officer, but I actually went to school for hotel and restaurant management, where I met my wife Nancy. Because I was from Hamilton, I took the school in Mississauga. We were walking down the hall of the school, there was a police cadet signup for Peel Regional Police and she said 'Why don't you do that', 'Ok'.'
