“To Honour Those Who Served”
The province of Newfoundland and Labrador has a proud and distinguished record of involvement in the major world conflicts of the twentieth century. This exhibit is a tribute to the men and women from our region that volunteered their services in these conflicts, many of whom paid the supreme sacrifice. Though we could not display every individual, this is a representative sample of all the service sectors involved – Army, Navy, Air Force, Merchant Navy and Forestry.
These pictures were scanned from old family photographs, and are intended to remind the present generation that we owe our current high calibre of life and freedom to the valiant efforts of these and others like them.
The Eastport Peninsula Heritage Society wishes to acknowledge the generous support of the Royal Canadian Legion – Branch 41, Eastport.
