Discover the life and work of a man who embodies shipbuilding on Île d’Orléans. A self-taught craftsman, François-Xavier Lachance was a leading boat builder. Some of his vessels are still plying the seas. Lachance was also the last representative of a long tradition of wooden-boat building on the St. Lawrence estuary.
