A Prairie Vernacular examines historic and contemporary representations of life on the Canadian Prairies. The complex and symbiotic relationships between these artists stem from a shared interest in Prairie experience, culture, environment, and sensibilities. Their works reflect on memories and histories of Prairie life, presenting visual narratives of humour, fantasy, myth, politics, religion, and the “Prairie Gothic”.
