"Where she was fondly worshipped by 3 grown up brothers.  She was a wonderful arrival for them."

"We named her Ruth Adair Brooke, after her mothers' mothers' name and her fathers' mothers' name..."

"Of course Ruth had to be bathed every morning, which she enjoyed immensely."

"Ruth gradually, not very fast, became a lovely plump baby . . . "

"Whenever I could I took her for a walk. The frosty air did her good, she never caught cold! . . . "

"But one day things went wrong! . . . "

"No room for baby in the Kamloops Hospital, March 1922 . . . "
