The Owen Sound to Toronto rail line was known as the Toronto, Grey & Bruce Railway. The track was completed in 1873 and the Priceville and Flesherton (Ceylon) Stations soon became hubs of activity for the communities they served, providing areas to sell wares and farmers' means to ship their livestock. People came out in the hundreds to see soldiers off and to celebrate their homecoming from the Riel Rebellion and both World Wars.

Slowly, dependence on rail travel decreased. In 1967, only 3 trains a week travelled through Priceville.

The Flesherton Station on the Toronto, Grey & Bruce Railway line was actually located in Ceylon, the next village west from Flesherton along County Rd. #4 heading to Durham. The Flesherton Station had 3 rail lines - main line, passing and house track. In 1967 there were only 3 trains a week and a flag had to be used to stop the train if there was a passenger.

In 1970, the Flesherton Chamber of Commerce purchased the Flesherton Station, with the aim to use it as a museum, but the costs were too high to bring it up to standard. It was torn down and relocated to the Alex Wilson Farm in Kolapore, Ontario.
