Summerland Review, 1988: Each print of "On a Still Day" was numbered and signed by the artist. From the proceeds Adams donated funds to the Art Gallery of the South Okanagan [now the Penticton Art Gallery] to help continue bringing fine exhibitions and art education to the southern valley. In addition, a further donation was made to the Summerland Art Gallery committee to help establish their long-sought dream.

Said Irvine after the Retrospect show at the Art Gallery of the South Okanagan in 1988, "I never had to sell one of my paintings, they just sold themselves. Sometimes while I secured the hanging wire on the back of the frame, my patron was there waiting to whisk it away. My paintings literally went from the kitchen table out the back door, often so fast I never got the chance to know my work.

My recent Retrospective at the Gallery was my chance to be reacquainted with some of this work. I was deeply moved by this experience. Actually it was somewhat like a reunion with long-lost intimate friends."
