The worst avalanche accident in Canadian history

Opened in 1916, the Connaught Tunnel rerouted the railway under the avalanche terrain of Rogers Pass. Other tunnels have since been built to reduce the risks involved in operating through the Selkirk Mountains. The Coffee Club reflects on the challenges of plowing to keep the line open.
