"The large letters again". This is the next theme of the exhibit. The letters were so large that they do not fit above the panel and were placed to the right, above the organ to the left of the panel. This is the largest theme of the exhibit since it includes all of the museum functions.

Grants are what keeps the museum opened and running. Some of the ways that funds are brought into the museum are by fundraising, donations, memorials and grants. The museum has fundraised in the past by hosting bean suppers, working bingos and casinos, and selling cookbooks. Grants are applied for and, if approved, the museum receives the grant, as long as it meets certain conditions. Examples would be matching funds, matching with volunteer hours or completion of a project.

The first project of the Historical Society was a fundraiser; for the book" Tales and Trails of Millet". Volunteers realized that in order to make the project happen, funds would be needed. Over the years, the Historical Society has had different fundraisers such as raffles with many different prizes including money, food and homemade items (including this homemade birdhouse). Fundraisers have brought in income for the museum and allowed the museum to do projects that they otherwise could not have done.

The books are positioned on an angle, using simple triangles cut out of foam core, in order for the viewer to see them better within the case. The items attached to the walls are angled outward for easier viewing, so the viewers do not hit their head on the glass.

The Millet and District Museum was the first museum to complete a Unit of the Museum Excellence Program, a challenging performance assessment program launched in 2003 by the Alberta Museums Association (AMA). The museum was honored by a national Program Committee for their achievement with the Declaration of Commitment to Excellence. This is the highest award that an institutional member of the AMA can receive. The Millet and District Museum completed the Administration Unit of the Program. The Administration Unit examines the museum's public accountability and how it is governed, managed and resourced.

The Museum Excellence Program emerged from years of work by the AMA in the areas of standards and performance measurement. The Museum Excellence Program uses a process of institutional self-assessment, peer review and recognition to enable a museum to measure its current performance, identify its strengths and weaknesses, plan for the future and strive for excellence. Performance is analyzed both internally in relation to standards of museum practice, and externally in terms of the social role that the museum plays in its community.
