In 2002 the staff and volunteers of the Cole Harbour Heritage Farm Museum decided to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the formation of the Cole Harbour Rural Heritage Society. What better way than to publish a book on the history of the community. The Society asked local author Harry Chapman if he would be interested in the project. Mr. Chapman thought it was a great idea and worked for months with staff, volunteers, an editor and indexer to create Along the Cole Harbour Road, A Journey Through 1765 - 2003.

Victoria Hall was built in the 1920s and replaced the Temperance Hall as community centre. For over forty years Victoria Hall hosted many community events including dinners, socials and meetings of the Women's Institute and Boy Scouts. The hall was also used for the first dances organized by the servicemen from Bell Lake Radar Station # 2 during WWII. Victoria Hall was sold to the Russell Credit Union in the 1960s. The small poultry shelters shown in the next image were part of the Geldart farm. Every farm had its flock of poultry but some families like the Geldarts, Eiseners and later the Davies were engaged in large scale poultry operations.
