Established in 1889, Pinkston's Forge first operated from a site on the shore of Harbour Pond, near the mouth of North Brook on what is today Hiscock property, but was later moved to a building known as "The Long House" near where it is located today. It was relocated to its present site on property purchased from Charles A. Jerrett in the 1920s.

The building today still houses all the necessary appurtenances of the original blacksmith trade: a hob under a big metal smoke canopy; large hand-pumped bellows manufactured over 100 years ago by the English firm of Hall, Day, & Onions; as well as racks of home-made tools with names like "flatters" and "fillers", all in excellent condition...
