The James house is a simple dwelling which is one room deep and two stories high.

This house was originally built in the early 1800's, however, it was not always positioned on the property where it is today. In fact, it was moved almost 200 years ago. When it first came to lie where it is now, a man named Stephen James owned it. He was a farmer and owned most of the surrounding property, including the barn, which is now the green house just to the left of the James home. Like many of the other families in Brigus this house was passed from generation to generation. The last person from the James family to live in the house was Fredrick James.

Approximately five years ago the house was purchased from the James family and underwent many interior and exterior renovations.

Today's owners have enjoyed their stay so far in the house; however, they have had one run in with a ghost on the second floor of the home. The ghost is apparently a James family member, but the story of his haunting is not well known.

Another unique feature of this property is the root cellar. Before the current owners bought the property the cellar was exposed. They restored the structure. Inside are the original rock walls.

Inside the cellar you can see the old rock walls. Today this space is used for storage; however, the cellar beneath the two floor doors is left empty.
