Pine Cree Park, now a regional park located near the communities of Shaunavon and Eastend, Saskatchewan, Canada, was established almost entirely due to efforts of Everett Baker. This area is a heavily wooded coulee with an abundance of wild flowers, hazel nuts, and berries. The south fork of Swift Current Creek flows through the park. Improvements have been made to the cleared areas for picnic tables, campers, roadways, outdoor kitchen and playground. Mr. Baker spent many hours clearing the area of rocks and brush, establishing signs and cleaning the park in general. Many people in the southwest recall his love of the area and his dedication to ensuring that the park remained clean and safe, always making sure that campfires were out before he left at days end. Though he was the primary instigator in the establishment of Pine Cree Park, he refused to have the park named in his honour. Many residents in Southwest Saskatchewan who knew Mr. Baker, continue to informally refer to the Park as Baker's Park, however "Baker's Coulee" a nearby ravine officially bears his name.
