Vintage Tractors - Tractor Pulls / Special Rules

1. Tractor shall be farm stock model units, 1960 or older. Fuel of day shall be permitted where operator's manual specifies (i.e. distillate, kerosene, water, gas). No power booster fuels or pressurized containers allowed i.e. propane, alcohol, aviation fuel). Motor r.p.m. to be factory +100 r.p.m. Now override on governor allowed (i.e. string, wire, rope, etc)

2. Hoods are to remain on tractors.

3. Single tires only permitted. No steel wheels may compete but may demonstrate pull at a time determined by Sled Operator.

4. Additional weights must not at any time interfere with Operator or controls or said tractor will be disqualified for that pull only.

5. Hitch height: MAXIMUM HEIGHT FROM THE GROUND TO THE TOP OF THE DRAW BAR SHALL BE 18 INCHES. Hitch height must be such that the tractor shall maintain stability at all times. This is interpreted to mean that the point of "draft" shall not exceed 18 inches.

6. The winners of the day shall be determined by the total of both pulls combined.

7. Where tractors have two or more pulls in a competition, the order of pulling will be reversed for even numbered (send, fourth, etc.) pulls, while the original drawn order will be followed for the odd numbered pulls (third, fifth. etc.)
(a) A class shall be considered complete if all of the entries have pulled their first pull.
(b) If the second pull in the class is not completed for any reason (i.e. rain), the prizes shall be awarded on the basis of the first pull.

8. The contestants will be stopped if:
(a) The two front wheels simultaneously leave the track six inches or more.
(b) One front wheel leaves the track 12 inches or more.
(c) If due to any extended period of lift off the track by front wheel (s) one wheel stops rotating.
(d) If operator is not in position to control of his tractor he will be disqualified.

9. Only the drivers on contest officials will be permitted in the track area during the actual competition. Coaching of drivers from the sidelines will be permitted, however, coaching MAY NOT interfere with Track Judge in any manner whatsoever.

10. The Sled Operator and the Judges shall determine the setting deemed necessary for the day.

11.
(a) De-clutching for shifting once contestant's pull has proceeded past the fair start mark is not permitted.
(b) Vintage Class for 1953-55 models may not use shift-on-the-go assists if tractor is so equipped (i.e. torque amplifier, hydra-shift). No declutching of master clutch allowed.

12. Three tries will be allowed to start the sled, providing the two first pulls do not exceed the fair start marker. The fair start mark shall be located exactly fifty feet from the start line.

13. CLASSES:
1. 4,000 to 4,999
2. 5,000 to 5,999
3. 6,000 to 6,999
4. 7,000 to 8,499
5. 8,500 to 9,999
6. 10,000 and over
