The Exhibit
The Tractor Shed:
As the collection grew we turned to our volunteers to construct a pole shed typifying structures used on area farms. Our collection is protected from the elements and each unit has signage describing its local history and relevant technical data

This type of shed is fairly common on farms throughout the Prairies. It shields farm equipment from rain, snow, sun and scouring winds. Construction is easy and quick, as well as low cost. As farmers bought tractors, combines and trucks they wanted to protect their investments - soon long, low machine sheds began replacing horse barns.
