Many of the Kunn 7laanas clan come from Charlotte Marks. Her daughter Ethel Jones was a well-respected Haida teacher and naanii.

The Kunn 7laanaas was one of the few Raven lineages to use the Tsa maos as a crest. The Tsa maos is a personification of driftwood, or the "tide-walker" and it lived in the Skeena. It had the power to transform into a black whale or sea lion.

The Kunn 7laanas boasts one of the few Haida composers, Vern Williams. Not only does Vern compose and share beautiful songs, he also coaches basketball and enjoys Haida dancing and creating Haida art.
