After his term as President of Local 64, Mr. Raines was still an active member of the Union, and was very important in the formation and completion of the first collective agreement between the Union and the Mill.

The application for membership was filled out by Alfred Reginald Stanford, a Ventillation Assistant in the Technical Services Department of the Corner Brook Mill on August 7, 1939. As you can see on the application, the application fee was 5 dollars, which was not a small fee at the time.
