In the spring of 2007, the Grade 2 class of Mrs. Breedyk at Manotick Public School participated in a simple social experiment, in the form of a group discussion. The aim was to create an account of every day life from the perspective of Manotick children in 2007, compare it to that of their parents' youth, and observe the differences, if any were found. The discussion addressed themes such as social life, family life, chores, and school life. The activity was fun and successful on all accounts, including positive inter-generational exchanges, and helped the Wastson's Mill Team to raise awareness of changing community trends.
Here are current memories of Manotick's children, told in their own words and drawings.
