The Panther Name

The gym teacher at Bentley School got a pep rally going among the students to stir up some enthusiasm. The students decided that they needed a logo so they enthusiastically planned a contest to pick a name.
Len Landry suggested "Panthers". It was accepted and won the contest. He received the prize which was a carton of one half dozen cokes supplied by Mr. Spicer. This was in the early 1970’s.
