An account of the reopening appeared in the Newfoundland Churchman, March 1964.
....." Three years after the old church was closed and it was at that time planned that it would be demolished. But at the instigation of the Bishop engineers took a second look at the building and decided that it could be renovated. Now that work has been completed and the old church has been given new life to stand on the hill overlooking Conception Bay for generations to come, just as it has for generations past."
