During her lifetime, Kate Aitken traveled more than two million miles to bring the latest world developments to her listening audience. She had a penchant for being in the right place at the right time and barely escaped government crackdowns in China and Korea.

During World War II, Kate made trips to England, bringing home reports from the front. Kate was accredited temporarily as a war correspondent in Europe, visiting Paris and Brussels in 1945.

In 1912, Kate and her Mother traveled west to the Canadian Coast and south into the United States. One highlight was visiting an ostrich farm.

Kate was a world traveler, especially between the years of 1945 and 1957, when she traveled over three million kilometers across fifty-two countries.

This travelling began with her first overseas trip to England, heading up to the Canadian Exhibition at a show in London, celebrating the crafts of the empire. She was presented here to the duke and duchess of York.
