The family homesteaded approximately 10 miles north east of Wawanesa. In honour of The Criddle/Vane families, the homestead was designated the 79th Provincial Park in 2004.

Percy Criddle was the patriarch of this saga and faithfully maintained a written account in the form of a diary during his years in Manitoba. Much information has been gleaned from these writings providing an insight into the life of a pioneer family. There is a typed and bound edition of his 1882-1893 diary.

Percy's Granddaughter, Alma Criddle published a book on the family, highlighting and illustrating the accomplishments and hardships of pioneer life. She is buried in the homestead cemetery.
