I Jesu Navn Gar vi til bords

A spise og drikke pa ditt ord

Deg Gud til aere, Oss til gavn

Sa far vi mat i Jesu navn.

Amen

After the Meal:

I Jesu Navn til bords we satt

Og fikk fra Herrens hand var mat

Til gavn for legem og for sjel

Gud lat oss det bekomme vel.

Norwegian Laft Hus Society: Norwegian Foods Commonly Made by Laft Hus members

The following list is not exhaustive by any means, but includes the main Norwegian foods that can be experienced:

- by becoming a member of the Norwegian Laft Hus Society at the annual member appreciation dinner;

- by Laft Hus members teaching public and members alike how to prepare these foods in some of the great community programming courses offered by the Norwegian Laft Hus Society;

- at special Events, such as a luncheon prepared for City Council members each year and also at Bake Sales and other special events throughout the year;

Kjottkaker = meatballs
Rommegrot = cream pudding

Rosettes = flower shaped cookie
Polse med lompe = Lefse with Europeian weinder and toasted onions lefse
Reke og Lok = when Plse med lompe is served with shrimp and onion (like a condiment)
Aquavit chased by beer = (well...common in Norway....!!)

Lutefisk!

Ven yew go to shop for lutefisk an' yew find da vun yew seek-just be sure dat it is big enough for tew last at least a veek. But don't try tew make him last dat long. Yew don't vant tew be a dunce. So yew cook da whole fish right avay, den eat him all at vunce! Yust remember ven yew cook him dat yew stand on da vinvard side, so da smell be make blow vay from yew, den yew don't care ven he died!
