The Pine Tree Line of stations were built as part of the air defence of Canada during the Cold War.

Station Foymount was located 13 miles southeast of Eganville on the historic Opeongo Road in Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada. The operations site built on top of a mountain was 1,800 feet above sea level and one of the highest points of land in Ontario. Construction started on the radar site in the fall of 1949. The station was (cite-3 call sign Eskimo) No. 203 Royal Canadian Air Force Radio Station. The station was operational by September 1 1952.

Under Sheldon's supervision, cable was erected in 1950 from Eganville to the large radar station at Foymount and new copper circuits were built between Eganville and Pembroke.

In the early seventies the role of Foymount was fast coming to an end due to advancements in radar technology and it was closed in October of 1971.
