In 1860s, Gooderham and Worts Distillery was growing in leaps and bounds. But a devastating fire in 1869 completely gutted their principal building - the stone distillery. They had no insurance policy. Yet, within a short period the building was up an running again.

Over the course of almost 175 years of operation, there were countless stories linked to Gooderham and Worts. Many of these are being researched and told bySally Gibson, the Manager of Heritage Services at the Distillery Historic District (see www.distilleryheritage.com). In the next few slides a few of the major figures in G&W's history will be introduced - especially the early partners in the firm - William Gooderham, James Gooderham Worts, and George Gooderham.
