Lucy, one of the native servants took Goodie with her to one of the last potlatches in the Inner Harbour in Victoria prior to the practice of potlatches being banned. As the daughter of the chief, Lucy's main responsibility was to distribute the goods, and make sure everyone recieved something. Goodie found that the actual distribution was a memorable and serious affair where no one talked to the person distributing.

Jessie McKenzie got married at Craigflower in 1863. She married Andrew Watson, and they later moved to California. The other children got married after they moved to Lakehill Farm. Agnes, Kenneth Jr. and Goodie never did get married.
