The photo is about 1905. This was prior to electricity being available to this community.

At a meeting held on November 3, 1909 a motion was passed "That a suitable tower be placed on the corner nearest the road at the eastern end on the building and the entrance be made there rather than in the centre as at present."

The sanctuary remains much the same as in 1881 except the main entrance has been moved to the back left hand side of the building. The door at the front left side leads to the parlour and pastor's study (added since 1955).

The winds off the Dorchester Marsh and Shepody Bay whistle by taking a toll on the outside of the structure, especially the tower. It was removed in 1971 (photo 1984). It has been reported that the church has been struck by lightning on three occasions. During July 1971 the steeple was struck by lightning. In 1975 the chimney, roof and siding were damaged. In 1976 lightning rods were installed on the roof to prevent further damage.
