GTP Train Wreck
1914
Near Mirror, Alberta
29
A crowd gathers around a Grand Trunk Pacific steam engine train wreck one mile East of Clive (Clive is about 18km West of Mirror) around 1912.
This was a circus train. The ground was very wet, and the track gave way, dumping the engine and rail cars on their side.
The track on this line would have been fairly new, and may not have been through many wet seasons yet.
