Chuck Parsons in another 1-horse, Top Buggy.

Perhaps being used as a 'courting buggy' here.

'Top Buggy' is a generic term for this buggy. The molded seat is would classify this particular buggy as a shell seat buggy or an auto seat buggy.

Buggies were light carriages, initially drawn by a single horse, later, sometimes by two. These buggies were mounted on either elliptic or side springs (or both) for passenger comfort.

Some buggies had one seat, with a folding top, perfect for two people, while others were two-seaters. Two-seaters having a fringed top were named Surreys.

The Prairie Concord was made by McLaughlin, Oshawa, Ontario in the early 1900's.

Mostly black in color, and left very plain, it was a very popular type of buggy, especially since some came with removable shafts, which could be replaced with a pole for a driving a matched team of horses.

This buggy had a front dash to protect it's occupants from the horse's hooves, storage space under the seat, and a fold-down or removable top.
