The first big fire in Mirror, early in the morning on May 15, 1912, one of three. The other two happened in the early 1920's.
Steer's Boarding house and Ezra Wiltse's general store both burned up in this blaze.
The fire started during Mr. Wilse's breakfast preparation in the upper storey of the general store, when the coal oil stove exploded.

Here is Mirror's Imperial Hotel, which is still standing and in use today. Except for aging, it pretty well looks the same today, as it did back then in 1912.
In this photo, the photographer would be standing NW of the hotel. The hotel door was angled for entrance off the corner, rather than from a side wall.
