The Ski Queen Coronation was as traditional as that of the Bralorne Snow Queen Ball. The chosen ski queen's duty was to hand out the Ski race trophies at the annual ball.

Although Pioneer had it's own hospital, it was not well enough equipped to handle surgeries or emergency situations requiring hospital care for the severely injured or sick. The doctors of Pioneer and Bralorne shared the Bralorne hospital for such cases, but when too severe, the patients were sent to the hospital in Vancouver by way of car, train or plane.
