Fitness Testing

Police officers need to keep in good physical condition in order to perform their duties as an officer. The Police Association started their own fitness centre at the police headquarters, so it would be easier for officers to work out.

Basketball

The Sudbury Police Service has had a basketball for a number of years now. Sometimes, as a fundraiser, they might play in a tournament or against certain teams to raise funds for a local charity.

The Benefit Basketball Series is a perfect example of the community involvement to raise money. The police played against Lasalle Secondary School to raise money for local charities.

Portage '91

Portage '91 involved police officers taking out a group of teenages on a camping and canoe trip. This was a great opportunity for kids and police to intereact with each other in a positive way.Shown here are the officers and youths who participated in the adventure.
